Hard to believe we are at Day 7 post my Amputation…I continue to amaze my Drs and mom and dad. Though pretty dopey most days due to my drug routine, I am eating all the great home cooked meals dad makes for me. The only thing I try and spit out is that darn garlic dad slips in my meal, as he says it’s good for me.
My incision looks really good and healing really well. I am learning to hop around and navigate the backyard to do my business which has posed a problem or two being a former leg-lifter, now turned squatter. My can hardly wait to get my staples out next week, and then go for a short walk. Dad ordered me a cool red RuffWear harness and my new booties arrived today to prevent slips, trips and falls.
All in all, I am adjusting to life on three. Dad is tired as he sleeps beside me each night in the bed, fetching my medicine and letting me out.
Dad spoke with the surgeon today and he looked a little worried during the call. The three biopseys taken from the amp came back, well almost, as the shoulder lympth node on my am leg was clean (yeah) but two other lumps biopseyed on my amp leg are hystiocytic sarcoma (again..) meaning mets. We are supposed to start chemo next week, likely lomustine and doxorubicin, but waiting for the word from my surgeon and oncologist.
I will update soon,
Tahoe and Dad (Stirling)
Oh gosh, soooo glad to get an update–been looking……
Yeah, that sleeping on the floor thing may last a while but I know Tahoe is soaking up the love and hugs
Guess the results of patho. weren’t completely unexpected and I know you’ll proceed with a good plan after talking with your vet. It’s like everyone says, Tahoe doesn’t know anything about any old stupid “results”…..he just knows he’s getting better everyday, co tinui g to adjust and figure things and fguri g out why he as to squat like a darn ole’ girl!! He’s just practicing for what old age looks like!
You will continue to see the spark come back–may come and go for awhile—but you will be so happy as the joy starts staying for longer and longer visits and then…boom…one day it’s all there and even more sparkle than before!!!
Please continue to keep us posted…we all care!
Sending you healing support and looking forward to more photos of Tahoe and each and every victory! Stay strong and enjoy the incredible bond!

So glad to hear that he is recovering well. Bruno also had histiocytic sarcoma. His lymph node in the amputated leg also came back positive, but don’t that frighten you. Remain in a space of optimism and hope. I’m not sure what type of time span drs gave you but I have to say and cannot stress enough that NO ONE can tell us for certain how Long we have with out beloved companions. There are no expiration dates or guarantees. This was the hardest concept for me. But I am blessed for the time I had with my boy Bruno, as I’m sure you feel lucky to have Tahoe. Bruno defied the odds and was a fighter as I am sure Tahoe is. We wish you the best and will keep y’all in our thoughts and prayers.

Hey Tahoe, tell your Daddy to cook you some meat and put that garlic in there, that’s the best way to eat it in my book! 😉
Hope you’re doing good this weekend. Good luck with the chemo next week. We’ll be cheering you on!
